Omaha, Nebraska (July 25, 2012) — StrategicHealthSolutions, LLC (Strategic), a woman- owned small business headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, with a second office in Columbia, Maryland, recently became accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE®) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
The ACPE is the first of three continuing education (CE) accreditations Strategic hopes to achieve this year.
Ms. Linda Beiriger, Strategic’s CE Program Coordinator, is leading the CE accreditation process by overseeing each step of the application and its implementation. Ms. Beiriger spent nearly 15 months creating and compiling extensive work instructions, practices, policies, and tracking systems to build the quality framework to pass the ACPE’s 12 accreditation standards. Ms. Beiriger indicated she is eager to begin the implementation phase. “It’s wonderful to be involved in the growth of Strategic as a CE provider,” she said.
Ms. Katherine Goeser, Strategic’s Chief Quality and Compliance Officer, said achieving the ACPE accreditation is an exciting, important step for the company. “CE accreditations will allow Strategic to grow and maintain our current contracts, while also providing leverage against other large businesses when we reach that point,” she said.
At nearly 120 employees and projected growth rate of 71 percent this year, Strategic is quickly outgrowing its status as a small business. As Strategic continues to grow, it is constantly considering ways to compete in the approaching large-business market.
Aiming to expand its services and distinguish itself from the competition, Strategic also has applied for two other CE accreditations: the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and International Association for Continuing Education & Training (IACET). Both applications have already progressed to the second level of the application process. The ACPE, ACCME, and IACET accreditations will allow Strategic to provide certified CE trainings on a national level.
ACPE is the national agency for the accreditation of professional degree programs in pharmacy and providers of continuing pharmacy education. ACPE was established in 1932 for the accreditation of professional degree programs in pharmacy. Its scope was broadened in 1975 to include accreditation of providers of continuing pharmacy education. The mission of ACPE is to assure and advance quality in pharmacy education.
